Frequently Asked Questions / Rates
What are your qualifications?
I graduated with a Masters of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State University in 2021. I obtained my License in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) for the state of Massachusetts in July 2024.
What is your client population like?
I generally work with clients ranging from adolescence through middle adulthood, but there’s no hard rule about who I see. If it seems like a good fit, I’m happy to work with anyone – no matter your age, background, race, or gender.
What insurances do you take?
I am currently in network with:
*United Healthcare (Optum)
*Blue Cross Blue Shield
*Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare
*Tufts (Commercial plans)
*Aetna
If your insurance plan falls under one of these larger companies, I may be able to take it as well. You can confirm this by contacting your insurance provider directly to check if I am in network. Please note – I am not in network with Medicaid or Medicare plans.
Clients are responsible for any insurance costs associated, which may include co-pays, coinsurance, or deductibles. It is expected of clients to understand what your insurance coverage details are.
If you have any questions about costs associated with your specific insurance plan, I recommend contacting your insurance provider.
What is your private pay rate?
If I am not in network with your insurance and you would like to elect to receive therapy out of pocket, my private pay rate is $175 for the initial session and $150 for subsequent individual sessions (55 minutes).
Good Faith Estimate (Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act)
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
What payment methods do you accept?
I can take electronic payment from all major credit cards or HSA cards. Payment information will be collected at intake and your card will be stored on file, and any amount due (co-pay, deductible, etc.) will be charged day of service. Paper check or cash is also accepted, and other plans for payment can be discussed at intake.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy – any cancellations within that window that cannot be rescheduled in the same week are subject to a $50 late cancel fee. No-shows (missed session, no notification to cancel) are also charged a $50 no-show fee. Insurance does not cover this fee and it will be charged to the card on file.
I understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and it can be difficult to give advance notice for cancellations. I will waive the fee at my discretion for family/medical emergencies.
